Three assisted-living blocks of flats for people with intellectual and multiple disabilities have been built. Commissioned by the Behrens-Stiftung, the buildings are located in the heart of the integrative, intergenerational “Allmende” and “Wilde Rosen” residential projects. The buildings and their common rooms are tailored to the special requirements of the people who live there. The flats are wheelchair-accessible and demonstrate numerous other specially adapted interior features. Generously sized common rooms enable the residents to participate in daily life as members of integrative residential groups despite their intellectual and physical disabilities.
